Reading
Each quarter, students read books and respond to them in various ways. In addition, we share a Read Aloud book, and discuss various subjects in reference to the book, like author intent, vocabulary, theme, symbols, characterization, setting, foreshadowing, suspense, and other literary items.
For Third Quarter, students will complete a series of friendly letters to Mrs. Pudil--one after reading the first chapter of the book, the second after the middle of the book, and the third letter after completing the book. These will be in addition to the 25 pt minimum of Reading Counts points each quarter.
